Course Introduction/ Synopsis:
For those companies which require more advanced first aid training Safety Links will provide you and your staff with the 40-hour "Certified First responder" course. At this time we do not offer this course for individuals and we only offer it for companies with multiple participants.
First Responder Course Details
The certified first responder training is intended to fill the gap between First Aid and EMT level training. Lifesaving skills in the first responder course include recognizing unsafe scenes and hazardous materials emergencies, protection from bloodborne pathogens, controlling bleeding, applying splints, conducting a primary life-saving patient assessment, in-line spinal stabilization and transport, when to call for more advanced medical help.
A certified first responder can be seen either as an advanced first aid provider, or as a somewhat limited provider of emergency medical care.

The American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI) First Responder course has a 2 year expiration term.
